Using your Psychology degree to be an Elder Advocate/Fundraiser
You can use your Psychology degree to work with elders in various contexts. For example, you can be an Elder Advocate. You would assist older adults with various tasks, such as applying for government benefits (e.g., Social Security disability), and reviewing medical bills and insurance claims. To be an elder advocate requires being knowledgeable about health care, financial, and daily-living issues. Another direction you can go is in the area of Fundraising. In this job, you will organize events and campaigns to raise money and other donations for an organization. You may design promotional materials and increase awareness of an organization’s work, goals, and financial needs.
